Green Earth Recycling and Tetra Pak Pakistan signed an agreement in 2013, to collect and recycle used beverage carton waste from all over Pakistan, in a sustainable and environment friendly manner, into marketable end products. At the time only 60% of the carton were being recycled.
The plant, with an annual capacity of 15,000 Tons, was setup and produced paper pulp, a raw material, for the packaging industry, and a plastic aluminum composite material that was added to our existing range of outdoor furniture products. This resulted in a 100% recycling of the waste material.
By 2017, the output of plastic aluminum composite film exceeded the absorption capacity of the existing range of products and a machine was installed to further process the material into corrugated roofing sheets. These sheets supplied an indigenous substitute to imported metal sheets at competitive rates, while providing various benefits to our customers.
